I’ve been fighting my ex-wife for the past eight years for a better visitation for my son. Today is another day in court in which I will not be there in Iowa since I live in Arizona and my lawyer did nothing in the best interests of my son and adviced me not to show in court because I could not afford to pay him $2000- $3000 to represent me in court. I’m forced to except the final agreement in which is in the best interest of my ex-wife and her lawyer. My lawyer has had this case for 1yr and 4 months and has done nothing but screw me over. I always had limited funds the whole time and they just drag it on.
Due to the recomendations of a custody evaluator whom recommended 1wk x-mas, 1wk spring break and two weeks summer my lawyer would not persue any more time stateing that the courts most likely would except her recommendations because she is a Dr. and is in high standings with that professional community. She recommended that it be followed for the next three years. My son is know 7 1/2 years old and when he was 5 and turning 6 I thru another counselor was given 6 weeks. I repeatedly asked my lawyer why I’m going backwards with this visitation and not fowards. It seems that the lawyers, Judges and counselors turn a deaf ear to the rights of the father.
This case orginated in Arizona and since my son born in Iowa the courts here kicked it out after 6yrs due to lack of subject matter Jurisdiction.
Since my ex-wife and her lawyer in Arizona waited for the last minute to change venue my Lawyer and I in Arizona are sueing both of them for knowling waiting after her lawyer admitted thru corespondence his knowleged of there ability to use it. Another words they had both lied to the courts in Arizona.

I have had trouble with CSRU also. I am a mother of 3, and I have had custody of the kids now for 4 years. In that time the childrens dad hasn’t seen them not once, yet I continue to pay him child support!! To the amount of $8,600!!!!! I had to hire a lawyer to get this taken care of since CSRU said they can’t do anything about it even though I have custody!! This is robbery!! How can the state let him get away with this ?? I thought the purpose of CSRU was to support the children and the parents in making a positive contribution to their lives. Not to let a deadbeat get away with stealing money from them…. This isn’t the first time I have heard of unfair tactics by CSRU. My brother was married they had a baby and come to find out, the baby wasn’t even my brothers. So he divorced her on grounds of infidality and he was forced to pay child support on the child that is not his!! WHAT?? Now my brother is facing a revokation on his license and a lean on his house among other things. This women he divorced now lives with a man with serious drug addictions and had been in jail on and off. His kids don’t get this money, you can tell by looking at them. It goes to his ex’s boyfriends drug habits. How can the state on Iowa let this go on?? Iowa needs to get their act together and make child support fair support…

Hi Tammy, in my view.. it’s not just Iowa but all of our beloved United States of America that needs to get its act together concerning all child support and child custody and domestic violence issues.

OH, Tammy it is such a mess … the whole family court system and what’s happening to kids! That’s the thing that gets me so worked up is that it’s THE KIDS who are getting the most screwed up by the whole process…

That you were paying child support while you had full residential custody of the children is just simply retarded. Your lawyer should have definitely taken the whole thing to the family court and gotten the child support order killed based upon change of circumstances.

Your situation is also serious as there is a lot of money involved. You can get some respectable advice from a lawyer for cheap here.

    Good luck to you!
