Nevada Child Custody Factors
- Wishes of the child if the child is of sufficient age and capacity to form an intelligent preference as to his custody.
- Any nomination by a parent or a guardian for the child.
- Whether either parent or any other person seeking custody has engaged in an act of domestic violence against the child, a parent of the child or any other person residing with the child.
- Preference must not be given to either parent for the sole reason that the parent is the mother or father of the child.

I have been sol supporting my son since the 23rd of august 2008 when his mother walked out on us and did not bother to contact to see if he was alright for 5 days, after she was finally served papers that i was filing for full physical custody of my son (7 weeks later she decided to start trying to see my son) and recently hired an attorney and took my son from me yesterday and stated i could see him on thursday for 2 days, I have asked her who was going to watch my son while she worked and she refused to tell me where my son is and who will be watching him, I was told by the police that since she is the mother she has 100% custody until we go to court on the 22nd of October almost 2 months to the day that she walked away. Why is this fair to a father that deeply loves his child and the mother only uses him as a trophy. Please help me understand Nevadas fathers rights law to me it is very unfair to a good father.

It’s not fair to a father. The whole American Family Court system is anti-father and anti-man. That’s the way it is…men are getting screwed in the same way you are all over America.
As far as the law goes, in a nutshell, it’s supposed to be “best interest of the child.” In reality, this often isn’t the case and the mom gets away with all hell… just like in your case…
that’s just the way it is, and, the so-called Fathers Rights Movement is a pathetic joke. Men can’t even get their urine successfully into the toilet of a public restroom… how do you expect them to rock a movement…….
